Our History

The Lakota Dakota Nakota Language Summit was created by Tusweca Tiospaye in 2008 as a way to unite the Oceti Sakowin (The Great Sioux Nation) in our efforts to revitalize our language by creating new generations of Lakota Dakota Nakota language speakers.

Today the Lakota Nakota Dakota Language Summit has become an International gathering of First Nations peoples from across the United States and Canada working together toward the revitalization of Native languages.
