Dr. Timoti Karetu - Dr. Karetu is Chairman of Kohanga Reo in New Zealand, Executive Director of Te Panekiretanga o Te Reo, chairman of Aotearoa Traditional Maori Performing Arts Festival, and a former professor at the University of Hawaii. He was also Inaugural Commissioner of Maori Language (a government assignment), and has written many books and other forms of literature on Maori language and the arts. Dr. Karetu is a founding father of the successful effort to revitalize the Maori language.
