Tusweca Tiospaye : Uniting the Seven Council Fires to Save Our Language

Tusweca Tiospaye (two-swe-cha tee-o-shpa-yea) is a Native 501(c)(3) created in 2007 that is dedicated to the promotion and strengthening of the Lakota language and culture among the youth of the Pine Ridge Indian reservation . Created in 2007 on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

Tusweca Tiospaye located on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, home of the Oglala Lakota Oyate, that is dedicated to the promotion and strengthening of the Lakota language. Tusweca Tiospaye is 100% Lakota operated.

In the 10 years since our creation we have worked toward our mission by providing Lakota language classes, traditional Lakota games classes and events, powwows, summer camps, traditional Lakota ceremonies and the Lakota Dakota Nakota Language Summit created to unite all Lakota Dakota Nakota people from reservations, reserves and communities across the United States and Canada in efforts to revitalize our language by creating new generations of speakers.
